Video to DVD transfer?

Just to add on to the discussion...do not forget to consider  
storage!  Digitizing analog video requires large amounts of storage  
space.  In most any situation, external hard drives to consider are  
the eSATA (Serial ATA) types and RAID systems (just type in these  
terms in Wikipedia for more info).

One brand that I have used and highly recommend is:

G-Technology

Currently the price or storge is coming down and there are other  
brands in addition to the above such as Lacie, Western Digtial, or  
Maxtor.  No matter what brand you go with be sure to get one that has  
at least a 5400 rpm or even better a 7200 rpm.  This enables clean  
editing from the hard drive without loss of data.

Also, to purchase hardware/storage or even film equipment, a good  
reliable online vendor is B&H.
