The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the College of Charleston
invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor
level beginning in August 2010. The Ph.D. in anthropology must be earned at
the time of application. We are seeking a broadly trained anthropologist
with specialization in Applied Anthropology.  The successful candidate will
be firmly committed to the four-field perspective, driven by a commitment to
excellence in undergraduate teaching and research, have an active research
program and teaching experience. Our preference is for an applied
anthropologist who is committed to working with students who are
enthusiastic about applying anthropological theory and methods to real world
problems and issues.

Review of applications will begin January 20, 2010. Interested candidates
should send a letter of application that includes a statement of teaching
philosophy, research agenda, and academic experiences in applied
anthropology; curriculum vitae; three example syllabi with teaching
evaluations; and unofficial graduate transcripts in a single PDF file. These
