We are looking for a final paper to complete our proposed panel for the 2010 AAA meeting in New Orleans.
If you are interested, please contact Jenny Davis (Jennifer.Davis at colorado.edu) or Susanne Stadlbauer (Susanne.Stadlbauer at colorado.edu) by March 30th(Tuesday).

Apologies for any cross-listings.

"Circulating Ideologies: Language and Contemporary Religion"

This panel seeks to explore the intersection of language, ideologies, and religious and/or spiritual practices; specifically, we seek papers that explore the ways in which ideologies about religious practices and identities circulate. We are particularly interested in research that draws from ethnographic research from various parts of the world on the topics of the linguistic analysis of globalization and religion; linguistic ideologies within religious/spiritual practices; or the linguistic negotiation of identity and religion.

"Think as I think," said a man,
"Or you are abominably wicked;
 You are a toad."
 And after I had thought of it,
 I said, "I will, then, be a toad."
