Hi Leila,

In the past I have used a classic that students liked a lot, "The City of Women"
by Ruth Landes. It is beautifully written and it can be used to discuss gender,
religion, perception of race/racism, colonialism, and anthro theory.

Subject: [LINGANTH] Intro Cultural Ethnographies?

Hi, I am thinking of changing over my intro to cultural anthropology to an
ethnography based course. Do people have suggestions for modern or classic
ethnographies that would be suitable for a large course open to all majors
that will include freshman?

all best,

Leila
