To advance the goal of engaging more readers in SLA digital media, I am
inviting graduate students in linguistic anthropology to author guest
posts on the blog at linguisticanthropology.org. I would appreciate it if
you would share this invitation with your advisees and students.

Guest posts of between 1,000 and 8,000 words describing current work in
linguistic anthropology and closely allied fields are requested. I am
particularly interested in Ph.D. candidates' descriptions of their
dissertation research. Candidates who have recently defended a prospectus
or presented a dissertation are invited to prepare a brief description of
their work for a broad audience interested in linguistic anthropology.
Other reflection or synthesis of current work in the field is also
welcome.

Readers of the blog include academic and practicing anthropologists,
students of linguistics, anthropology, and language, as well as
intelligent non-specialist readers. Guest entries should therefore be
written with a mixed specialist and non-specialist audience in mind. Where
possible, describe technical terms or recent theories in relatively
accessible terms.

SLA's linguisticanthropology.org averaged more than 1,000 page views per
week from SLA members, colleagues, and other interested readers during
2011. I sincerely hope you will take this opportunity to share your work
with a broad audience.

Guest posts should be sent to nilep at ilas.nagoya-u.ac.jp. Please include a
brief biographical description, including your name, affiliation, and
major research focus.
