New Article on Marriage Rights Court Arguments

Dear colleagues,

With the U.S. Supreme Court scheduled to hear arguments on  
California's marriage laws on March 26, I wanted to let you know about  
my article just published in the Journal of Law, Culture and the  
Humanities.

Titled "Liberal Jurisprudence and the Literal Grammar of Marriage  
Equalit(y)(ies)," the article analyzes a core connection between  
language and law in arguments before the California Supreme Court in  
the 2008 case that led to recognition of same-sex marriages, then  
Proposition 8's state constitutional ban, and now the U.S. Supreme  
Court case.
