Subject: [AAA Section Program Editors] New programming added to discuss Ferguson (please forward to your sections)

Hi all,

Please circulate widely!
----
Concerned about what has been happening in Ferguson?

On Thurs Dec 4, 11:00-1:00 pm in Cleveland 1, and Sat, Dec 6, 2:30-4:30 pm, in Cleveland 2, the AAA Executive Program Committee will host special sessions for AAA Members seeking colleagues and a forum to discuss Ferguson.

We will address how anthropologists could contribute to the public dialogue regarding the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and the grand jury's recent decision not to press charges against, Darren Wilson, the police officer involved in Brown's death.

Please join us for an open forum to take up how to use our collective expertise to act and move the conversation forward.

Additional background and information regarding the format of the Forum is at:http://blog.aaanet.org/2014/11/13/format-for-december-4th-members-open-foru

These are important issues for the Association and its members, and I urge you to share the information widely.

All my best,

Alec
