[Linganth] Linguistic Anthropology and historical moments

Still playing with ideas of how to go about this but would be interested in
putting together a panel titled "Making the Familiar Strange: Using
Linguistic Anthropological Methods to Reexamine Key Historical Events."  I
am thinking of doing a paper either on Little Bighorn or Sand Creek
Massacre.

Aims would include demonstrating the power of linguistic anthropological
analysis techniques and rethinking important historical events.

Does anyone have papers they think would fit in with panel?
