*SARASWATI DAY - gloBALIzation*

This program celebrates Balinese, Indonesian and all of the world's
languages as we move into a culture where mother tongues can thrive -- and
be nourished -- along with national and international ones. Monocultures of
any type are not sustainable. We need to manage the world's languages in a
holistic and sustainable way just as we do with other natural resources,
before too many more languages become endangered species. *November 27,
2015*

   - Presentation of new books in Balinese by Professor Gde Nala Antara
   - Dance, gamelan, and poetry by Banjar Bali USA (Washington, DC),
   Permias (NY), and others
   - Reading of a Balinese poem (by Mas Ruscitadewi) in multiple languages
   by diaspora
   - Children’s drama honoring Saraswati (Bali only)
   - Explanation of the relevance of Saraswati by ARMA’s founder Anak Agung
   Gde Rai and Wesleyan University Professor Ron Jenkins
   - Saraswati Art with Anak Agung Gde Rai (Washington, DC only)
