We are seeking postdoctoral researchers and a project manager to lead a 
large collaborative study on mathematical learning among the Tsimane', 
an indigenous group in Bolivia. The targeted research includes both 
ethnographic work on number usage among Tsimane' families and use of 
basic tasks from experimental psychology in order to quantify the types 
of numerical knowledge that Tsimane' children develop. Applicants should 
be fluent in Spanish and preferably have experience with fieldwork since 
a considerable amount of time will be spent in the field or in nearby 
towns (e.g. San Borja, Bolivia). Strong applicants for the position will 
also possess quantitative skills including knowledge of statistics and 
experimental design. Positions will be for 1-3 years and would start 
likely late summer 2018. This work is funded by NSF's Division of 
Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings. Please contact
