 The Canadian Society for the Study of Names

or-the-study-of-names/>   is calling for paper submissions to be presented
on May 26-27, 2018 in Regina, Canada. The CSSN’s 52nd annual meeting will be
part of the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences
<https://www.congress2018.ca/> , where more than 70 scholarly associations
will meet at the University of Regina. The official theme of the 2018
congress is “Gathering Diversities”, however papers on any research related
to names and naming are welcome. This includes:

 ·       Personal names

·       Place names

·       Brand names

·       Product names

·       Fictional names

·       name choices

·       name changes

·       nick-names

·       online aliases

·       multiple names for one entity

·       names as indexes of social, cultural or racial categories

·       naming practices

·       name-related policies, regulations and laws

·       name-related humour or speech play

·       name-related topics in pop culture or media

·       historic trends in naming

·       technologies for organizing and finding names
