Dear colleagues:

I am writing to invite you to submit full article manuscripts in English,
French, Portuguese, Italian, or Spanish to DELTA Journal special issue
"Academic writing in first language or additional languages in higher
education".

The journal has been published since 1985 by The Pontifical Catholic
University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), Brazil, and it has had a strong influence
on applied, educational, and systemic-functional linguistics. It is indexed
in SCOPUS and Scielo, among other databases. Articles are published under
the Open Access model.

Articles from different theoretical and methodological perspectives about
the following topics, among other possibilities, are welcome:

- the role of academic writing in knowledge societies;
- the context, textual dynamics and/or linguistic features of academic
writing;
- academic writing practices, identities and beliefs in different contexts;
- teaching initiatives and programs in academic writing;
- the relationship between academic reading, writing and speaking;
- academic writing and plagiarism;
- national and institutional educational policies and academic writing.

Articles may be written in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, or French
and will be 5000 to 8000 words. Manuscripts are expected to include an
explicit, systematic, and rigorous methodology to sustain empirically-based
claims that contribute to moving forward the knowledge of academic writing.

Submission deadline: March 15, 2021. The special issue is to be published
in the second half of 2021. Journal URL: https://revistas.pucsp.br/delta

Célia Maria Macedo de Macedo (UFPA), Orlando Vian Jr. (UNIFESP), Marília
Mendes Ferreira (USP), and myself will work as editors.

Best Regards,
Federico
