committee is open, though the courses needing to be taught will

<div><font face="Times New Roman" color="#000000">The Anthropology
Department at Northern Arizona University is seeking a sociocultural
anthropologist (minimum ABD, Ph.D preferred). This is a one year,
temporary, replacement position at the instructor level (salary range
30,000 to 34,000 for academic year contract, depending on
qualifications). Area of sociocultural specialization and geographic
focus are open. Preference will be given to individuals interested in
teaching in an applied anthropology program, with a specialization
and experience that complements the existing faculty (eg. business
anthropology, environmental anthropology, ethnography of
communication, medical anthropology, organizational culture).
The position will carry a 4 course teaching load each semester, with
either 2 or 3 preparations per semester. Teaching at least one
course in individual specialty is possible. Preference will be
given to individuals who show evidence of strong teaching experience
and expertise. Preference will be given to individuals capable of
teaching undergraduate courses in Introductory Cultural Anthropology,
Women in Contemporary Cultures, and/or undergraduate medical
anthropology. Northern Arizona University has a current enrollment of
approximately 19,000 students, statewide. The anthropology department
has a faculty of 16, and has a strong applied emphasis, with 200
undergraduate majors and 85 graduate students. The area is culturally
diverse, beautiful, and anthropologically interesting. Preference
will be given to applicants with demonstrated ability and experience
in teaching a diverse student population. Women, minority candidates,
