2004. We seek an individual who focuses on documentary film/media to join an
innovative, interdisciplinary program that covers media, rhetoric, and
performance studies. While we invite candidates from a wide range of
disciplinary backgrounds, we particularly encourage applicants with expertise
in ethnographic documentary who are interested in the cultural and social
relationship this form has to the politics of identity (e.g., ethnicity, class,
race, sexuality) and in indigenous media. The candidate should also be
conversant with the theory and history of documentary more broadly conceived.
Some production experience would be additionally beneficial. Applicants are
expected to have a strong research agenda and a commitment to excellence in
teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have their Ph.D. in hand
