State University, invites applications for a full-time tenure-eligible
Assistant Professor position in sociocultural anthropology starting Fall
2008. Ph.D in hand by time of appointment, substantial ethnographic
fieldwork, and a commitment to diversity are required. The
successful applicant also must be able to teach introductory courses in
sociocultural anthropology for majors and non majors. Research
specialities that supplement those already in the department are strongly
preferred, especially research in Africa, China, India, Japan, the Middle
East, or South America, and on post-colonial, global, linguistic, or
cross-cultural topics. Underrepresented groups are encouraged to
