She was an inspiring teacher to many and will be sorely missed. An <a href="http://www.anthropology-news.org/index.php/2015/07/02/virginia-hymes/" class="">obituary</a> was published in Anthropology News this month. If you go to <a href="http://anthropology.virginia.edu/faculty/inmemoriam/profile/virginiahymes" class="">Ginny's UVa Dept. of Anthropology webpage</a> you can access some lovely, more elaborate comments about Ginny's life and work that were presented by her colleague Ellen Contini-Morava at her memorial service in April.<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I'm attaching a list of Ginny's publications, which was not easy to compile. If anyone spots omissions I would be grateful to know of them. Ginny's field materials (mostly on Sahaptin) will be archived with the American Philosophical Society.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Those who feel moved to mark Ginny's passing with an act of charity are encouraged to donate to one of the causes to which she herself was dedicated: <a href="http://www.virginia-organizing.org/" class="">Virginia Organizing</a>, <a href="https://sites.google.com/site/charlottesvillepeacecenter/" class="">the Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice</a>, <a href="http://museumatwarmsprings.org/" class="">the Museum at Warm Springs</a>, or <a href="http://kwso.org/" class=""></a><a href="http://kwso.org/" class="">Warm Springs Community Radio</a> (KWSO).<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Best regards,</div><div class="">Lise </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""></div></div></body></html>
