Research projects must pertain to Native American history, anthropology, linguistics, cultural revitalization, and related fields.</p><p>This 12-month fellowship is intended for an advanced Ph.D. student working toward the completion of the dissertation. The caliber of the project, and evidence that the project will be completed in a timely manner, are the two most important criteria for selection. The selection committee will also take into consideration the need to be at the APS Library and other research institutions in the Philadelphia area.</p><p>A stipend of $25,000 for twelve months will be awarded to the successful applicant, who will also have an affiliation with the APS Library’s Center for Native American and Indigenous Research.</p><p>Applicants will submit:</p><ul><li style="margin-left:15px">C.V.,</li><li style="margin-left:15px">Dissertation proposal,</li><li style="margin-left:15px">A sample chapter from their dissertation not to exceed 25 double-space pages,</li><li style="margin-left:15px">A cover letter that discusses the current status of the dissertation and description of the work proposed to be completed on the fellowship, and</li><li style="margin-left:15px">Contact information for three people who will submit confidential letters of reference.</li></ul><p>Full details are available at the <a href="http://www.amphilsoc.org/library/fellowships/long-term-pre-docs" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">application webpage</a>.
