Hi Angie,

This dissertation, from a psychological rather than ling anth perspective, might be useful for your student's project: Bhutanese Refugees 15 years later: A study of the effects of trauma among women who are survivors of torture, by Luna Acharya Mulder.
Her study has been discussed online and in other news outlets, for example
My student works on Syrian refugees in Turkey and issues of gender and violence. I'm compiling a list of linguistic anthropology readings that will help her think through these areas of language, gender, violence, and migration. I'm wondering if anyone can
recommend books/articles/chapters on these issues. She's particularly interested in the language of gendered violence -- both language as violence and how violence is made unspeakable (or not). Thank you!!
