<div>This panel addresses the complex relationship between culture, language, and cognition from a diverse range of subdisciplinary and theoretical perspectives. From conceptual metaphor theory to linguistic relativity to cultural models to cross-linguistic
perspectives on space and time, there are a variety of loci where linguistic and cognitive perspectives in anthropology (broadly construed) are tightly interwoven. Yet there is also a perception of a disjunct between the two. Keane (2015) and many other
commenters on Maurice Bloch's <i>Anthropology and the cognitive challenge</i> (2012) note that there are missed opportunities, threads of research less than fully integrated with one another, and a need for mutual interest. This panel aims to take a step
in this direction by inviting contributions that seek to expand our prototypical understandings of the language-culture-cognition intersection, from a variety of theoretical and empirical frameworks. Contributions from both senior and junior scholars, including
students, are welcome, and contributions from anthropologists from groups underrepresented in the academy are encouraged. </div>
