<div dir="ltr"><div><div><div><div>Happy summer all!<br><br></div>As I start to think about fall teaching, I'm looking for articles for the first week of my Intro to Linguistic Anthropology course. I'd like to assign a handful of short pieces written for a general audience that highlight the importance of language/semiotic analysis for current issues, which can then be touchstone examples to come back to throughout the course.<br><br></div>I'm involved with the SLA Committee on Language and Social Justice, so have access to their work on issues such as the "word gap", the i-word, and Native American mascots.
