        Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a Tenure-Track
        Assistant Professor of International and Comparative Education
        with a specialization in Language, Literacies, and Communities
        to engage in research, teaching, and advising in the Program in
        International and Comparative Education (ICEd).</p>
      <p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 12.5px;">Candidates
        with a bilingual/multilingual background are strongly encouraged

          style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: bold;">CHARACTERISTIC
          DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>

        <li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Develop and maintain a
          strong research agenda and publication record.</li>
        <li style="box-sizing: border-box;"><strong style="box-sizing:
            border-box; font-weight: bold;">Teaching responsibilities</strong><span> </span>include:
          graduate level courses in international educational
          development and comparative and international education and
          courses on language policy, multilingualism, critical
          approaches to language and literacy assessment, and/or
          community development.</li>

            border-box; font-weight: bold;">Academic advisement
            responsibilities</strong><span> </span>include: working with
          both masters and doctoral students on thesis projects and
          dissertations.</li>
      </ul>

          Qualifications:</strong></p>
      <ul style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom:

        <li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Earned doctorate in
          international and comparative education and/or a related
          social science discipline (e.g., anthropology, political
          science, or sociology) or applied linguistics.</li>
        <li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Must be able to show
          evidence of research on education policies as they pertain to
          community languages taught in schools (like “mother tongue”
          education); multilingualism in policy, schooling, or outside
          of school settings; literacies or critical approaches to the
          evaluation of them; or participatory development and community
          empowerment.</li>
        <li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Applicants should
          demonstrate knowledge in qualitative or mixed research methods
          (such as archival research, participatory action research, or
          surveys). </li>
        <li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Other professional
          experience in international education development will also be
          considered.</li>
        <li style="box-sizing: border-box;">Be able to show evidence of
          exemplary teaching and advisement. The search committee is

          the position. The appointment is expected to begin in
