Thank you again to everyone who shared new research, new books, commentary, conversation, and community on May 29-31 to make our 2025 conference in Chicago such a resounding success. Seeing all the great work everyone is doing in our field put a lot of wind
in my sails, and I hope the same is true for you!

On Saturday evening, you may or may not have been able to attend the JLA Futures event, which included a presentation and small group discussions about the future of the
Journal of Linguistic Anthropology and the AAA’s portfolio more generally. As we on the Executive Board think through JLA's next chapter(s), we are gathering insights from diverse stakeholders, including first and foremost SLA members. In that spirit,
we would like to invite everyone to a second iteration of the JLA Futures event, this time on Zoom. The event will begin with a presentation on the different models that we are considering, and then Executive Board members will host breakout rooms unpacking
the different options' pros and cons. Open to all members.
