SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER IN LINGUISTICS (tenure-track position)
Applicants should possess a Ph.D in Linguistics and evidence of a record of research and publications.

Preference will be given to applicants who have a primary specialization in one of the following areas:

 *   discourse studies / pragmatics
 *   English as a Second Language
Ability to teach a range of Linguistics courses outside of the primary area of specialization will be expected. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate level will be highly desirable.
The University of the West Indies is a dynamic, international institution serving the countries of the Commonwealth Caribbean. Its faculties offer a wide range of undergraduate, masters and doctoral programmes in Humanities and Education, Science and Technology, Law, Medical Sciences and the Social Sciences. Its mission is to propel the economic, social, political and cultural development of West Indies Society through teaching, research, innovation, advisory and community services, and intellectual leadership.
Successful candidates will be required to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, take part in curriculum development, be involved in interdisciplinary collaboration, develop innovative research and advise and supervise students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The successful candidates will also be expected to make a significant contribution to the department's research output, to undertake an appropriate teaching and administrative load, and to take part in outreach activities.
