Dear ALT list members,

there are three jobs to be filled within the "Referentiality Project" 
funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. The goals of the "Referentiality 
Project" include a corpus-based typology of the cross-linguistic coding 
of referentiality (cf. the project website for further information). 
Principal investigator of this project is Christian Lehman (University 
of Erfurt). Two of the positions will be filled with typologists, the 
third position will be assigned to a corpus linguist with programming 
skills. Details are given below and on the Website of the project:

The Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Letters, University of Erfurt, 
has an opening, to be occupied by 01/08/2012, for a full-time research 
associate; salary level: 13 TV-L (grade 2); reference number: 33/2012.

Tasks
1. Independent corpus-based typological research in the project 
‘Referentiality’ 
(www2.uni-erfurt.de/sprachwissenschaft/referentiality/home.php), funded 
by the Volkswagen Stiftung in the DOBES program for three years.
2. Assistance in the edition of a collective volume on referentiality.

Work place is Erfurt.

Conditions of employment
• above-average PhD in linguistics, focus in general-comparative linguistics
• experience in grammatical and semantic analysis of Non-Indo-European 
languages
• excellent knowledge of English;
• Experience with corpus data and computational methods of their 
exploitation is requested.

• experience in grammatical and semantic analysis of Non-Indo-European 
languages
• Good knowledge of English.
