Dear Ilja,

The verbal morphology or Proto-Bantu is reconstructed as including an obligatory prefix expressing person-number agreement, plus gender agreement in the 3rd person, cf. Meeussen A.E. Bantu grammatical reconstructions. In: Africana Linguistica 3, 1967. pp. 79-121.
