[Lingtyp] Vacancy: PhD position in semantic typology (tense-aspect) - University of Antwerp

The Department of Linguistics (Grammar and Pragmatics research center) at the University of Antwerp is looking for a full-time PhD student in the domain of semantic typology (tense-aspect), for a period of four years. The PhD project 'A semantic typology of present-tense constructions' that the PhD researcher will working on studies the manifestation of the so-called "present perfective paradox" in a typologically adequate sample of languages. Its goal is to analyze the characteristics of present-tense constructions and their interaction with aspect, on the basis of existing grammars, questionnaires and advanced elicitation techniques.
