[Lingtyp] popular non-generative book

Dear colleagues,

I wonder if anyone knows (a) well-written popular book(s) presenting a
general introduction in linguistics from a non-generativist viewpoint.
Something like Pinker's books, but from the opposite camp. Needed for an
introductory course in linguistic diversity and general linguistics for
students outside linguistics.
