(apologies for cross-postings)

Position available:

Senior researcher in typological/comparative/historical linguistics

The Distributional Linguistics Lab at the Department of Comparative
Language Science of the University of Zurich
(https://www.ivs.uzh.ch/en/DLL.html) invites applications for a
(non-tenured) senior researcher position in
typological/comparative/historical linguistics.

The successful candidate develops a research profile that relates to the
general theme of the lab and complements ongoing projects. Senior
researchers are expected to acquire external funding to start their own
independent group for the duration of their contract (up to 6 years).
The position includes teaching obligations (1 course per semester, BA or
MA level), directing theses, and advising junior staff.

Applicants must have at least 3 years of research experience after
obtaining their PhD and a track record of excellent publications.

The department places great emphasis on teamwork and on
multidisciplinary perspectives. Excellent communication and
collaboration skills are essential. We also strongly aim at gender
diversity, and we particularly encourage women to apply.

Applications should include a research and teaching statement, a CV with
publication list, and the names of three references. Please send your
application to jobs at ivs.uzh.ch <mailto:jobs at ivs.uzh.ch>.

Review of applications starts February 15 and applications are accepted
until the position is filled. Questions can be addressed to the lab
director Balthasar Bickel (balthasar.bickel at uzh.
<mailto:balthasar.bickel at uzh.ch>ch <mailto:balthasar.bickel at uzh.ch>).
