I have an unpublished manuscript about the vocative particle ya and the construction xatixat PRED 'piece.of PRED' in Hebrew, both of which are not insults themselves but are used to grammatically mark insults. As David Gil notes, ya is usually but not always derogative. I describe its function as marking an evaluative address (in the sense of Zwicky 1974, 2004). xatixat has a dedicated function as a grammatical derogative marker, in addition to a function as an intensifier and its literal denotational meaning. When they are put together, i.e. ya xatixat PRED, the result is invariably derogative. Feel free to contact me for more information.
