<BR>Yahgan, an isolate from Tierra del Fuego. The language when still vital was

<BR>becoming heavily serializing, even though for the vaster part it was

<BR>dependent marking (although there is good evidence for the inversion of

<BR>marking at some higher level- verbs as nouns, nouns as verbs, so is it

<BR>secondarily head-marking??). Anybody know of a good set of papers/texts that

<BR>would let me bone up on comparative serialization? There's some very neat

<BR>stuff here, even the what phonosemantics there is is turned inside out

<BR>relative to languages with verbs with heavy manner components lexicalized

<BR>onto them (from expressives)- is body-action based (versus the inanimate

<BR>sensory leanings of mannerized verbs).
