Oxford: OUP, 2002, pp. 196-212 in which he contrasts the historical
spread of the dative, so-called Dative Sickness, and which he argues
is semantically motivated, with Nominative Sickness which instead
represents a morphosyntactically motivated pattern of
change.</font></div>
