Call for papers<br />

The conference The Baltic Languages - Structure and Contacts will be held
June<br />
11-12, 2010, at Stockholm University, Section for Baltic Languages.<br />
<br />
We invite papers on all aspects of Baltic linguistics: description,<br />
documentation, historical development, and structure of the Baltic languages.<br
/>
We also welcome papers dealing with language contact – both past and
present.<br />
<br />
A period of twenty minutes will be allotted for each paper, followed by a<br />
ten-minute discussion period. Abstracts must be received by March 1, 2010. <br
/>
Abstracts should be no more than 1 page typewritten. Please attach a cover<br />
sheet with your name, institutional affiliation, and accurate contact<br />
information (mailing address and e-mail address). All abstracts will be<br />
evaluated by an international committee.<br />

This conference is being arranged in commemoration of the first professorship<br

of Baltic Languages, established 1970, at Stockholm University. The chair,<br />
placed at the Department for Slavic and Baltic Languages, was held by noted<br
/>
scholar in Baltic linguistics Velta Rūķe-Draviņa (1917-2003) until her<br />
retirement in 1983. A lecture will be given in her honour.<br />
