<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">The main goal of the project, led by Peter Bakker, is to map common structural properties of the world’s creole languages, </font></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">and the extent to which their typological properties distinguish them from non-creoles, and which traits can be identified. </font></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">The project has three levels: the macro-level, i.e. the general typological traits of creoles contrasted with non-creoles; the meso-level, </font></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">concretely a mapping ofthe typological traits of the Iberian creoles (Spanish and Portuguese-based); and the micro-level, </font></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">i.e. the semantic differences and developments found between different generations of pidgin- and creole speakers in the Pacific</font></div>

<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;"> We are looking for a full-time researcher during two years (January 2013-December 2014) </font></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">to work on the part covering the Iberian creoles. Your main task will be to gatherdata by means of typological questionnaires, </font></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">from speakers in fieldwork, and published grammatical descriptions, and systematize and analyze them, and publish the results. </font></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">In addition, there is a modest teaching task (one course a year), andyou will be expected to participate in workshops connected to the project. </font></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">You will be part of a team consisting of four linguists (two postdocs, one PhDstudent, one lecturer) and one biologist. </font></div>

<div align="left" style="text-align:left;"><font face="Times New Roman" size="+0" color="#000000" style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;">anthropological linguistics, has worked on Portuguese-and/or Spanish-based creoles, has reading knowledge of Romance languages, </font></div>
