<p style="color:rgb(51,51,51);text-align:justify"><font style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255)" face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Surrey Morphology Group (SMG) is pleased to announce an open competition to apply for a fully funded 3-year postgraduate research studentship (fees and subsistence at Research Council rates) to undertake PhD research in the School of English and Languages, University of Surrey.</font></p>
<p style="color:rgb(51,51,51);text-align:justify"><font style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255)" face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Important: </b>The studentships will start in<b> October 2014. </b>Due to funding restrictions, full studentships are only available to <b>Home students </b>(i.e. students from the UK) and (other) <b>EU students who have been resident in the UK for 3 years on 30 September 2014.</b> <span style="color:rgb(26,26,26)">EU students who have not been resident in the UK for the 3 years preceding the award will be entitled to a Fees Only award.</span> Part-time studentships may be considered under certain circumstances.</font></p>

<p style="color:rgb(51,51,51);text-align:justify"><span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255)"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">To be considered for a studentship, the topic of the proposed research should be within the area of morphology or the interfaces between morphology and other components of grammar.</font></span></p>
<p style="color:rgb(51,51,51);text-align:justify"><span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255)"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">In the first instance, we invite potential applicants to submit a brief proposal outlining their proposed research project. The document should outline the key research questions for the project, discuss the methodology to be used and explain why this topic is of interest to the field.</font></span></p>
<p style="color:rgb(51,51,51);text-align:justify"><span style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255)"><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Applicants must be able to demonstrate how their proposed research fits in with research currently undertaken within the group.
