"Times New Roman","serif"">My answer to the question is negative and the first line strongly suggests that adjectives, Italian adjectives and French adjectives are very similar
kinds of things. This is very much also what Kalyanamalini Sahoo and I argue in a forthcoming paper in
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">Acta Linguistica Hafniensia </i>called “On comparative concepts and descriptive categories,
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style:
normal">such</i> as they are”, not about adjectives but about
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal">such </i>constructions. The paper is sympathetic to Martin's proposal, but also critical, not radical and not, I would say, 'defeatist' about linking up the language-specific and the cross-linguistic.</span></p>
