<DIV>Dear Bernard,</DIV>
<DIV>thank you so much for the invitation to the Santa Barbara
Meeting. I have had a rather hectic 2016 and in my age, after the SLE
Conference in Naples and the SLI Congress in Milan, I think I need some rest.
</DIV>
<DIV>Spatial reference across cultures and languages is a very interesting
topic. I myself have written some papers on deixis. You may find in the
attachment my chapter in the book ed. by K.Jungbluth & F. Da Milano on
<EM>Deixis in Romance Lgs, </EM>as well as two not yet published contributions
by Putzu, Da Milano and myself (Benjamins, in press : <FONT
