available at the Language Learning and Processing Lab of Dr. Inbal Arnon at the

The initial post-doc appointment
will be for one year with the option to renew annually up to 3 years, the PhD

September 2017 (flexible). The lab’s core research areas are psycholinguistics,
first language acquisition, and L1-L2 differences, with a focus on the way
learning mechanisms change with experience. </font></span><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:rgb(34,34,34)"><font face="Cambria" size="3">Our research combines
theoretical insights and methods from Cognitive Science, Linguistics and Psychology.

</font><p style="line-height:150%"><font size="3"><font face="Cambria"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color:rgb(34,34,34)">The positions
are part of an externally funded project on the developmental trajectory of
statistical learning, focusing on the sources and consequences of individual
differences in statistical learning abilities (SL). The project will examine changes
in SL change across childhood; their predictive power for language learning
outcomes; and the genetic factors underlying variation in SL abilities. </span><span lang="EN-GB"><font color="#000000">Our primary methodologies are behavioural,
computational, and corpus-based. Other techniques such as, EEG-fMRI, are
possible through collaborations with faculty members in Psychology, and the
Jerusalem Brain Community (</font></span></font></font><a href="https://scholars.huji.ac.il/jbc/home"><span lang="EN-GB"><font color="#0000ff" face="Cambria" size="3">https://scholars.huji.ac.il/jbc/home</font></span></a><span lang="EN-GB"><font color="#000000" face="Cambria" size="3">). The successful candidates are
expected to work on topics that are compatible with the lab interests, broadly
construed (language learning and processing). </font></span></p><font color="#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">
</font><p style="line-height:150%"><font face="Cambria"><font size="3"><font color="#000000">We are seeking a
highly qualified post doc with a doctorate in a relevant field (Psychology, Linguistics,
and Cognitive Science) and shared interests in the core research areas
described above. The researcher, ideally, should have extensive experience with
psycholinguistic methods, including paradigms of statistical learning.
Computational modeling experience is welcome but not required. In addition, we
are looking for strong candidates for a funded PhD studentship. The successful
candidate will have a background in language studies (linguistics, psycholinguistics
and/or<span> </span></font></font><font color="#000000" size="3">language acquisition) and demonstrated
experience in research from their BA. Knowledge of programming and statistical
analysis is an advantage.</font></font></p><font color="#000000" face="Times New Roman" size="3">
