In the late 20<sup>th</sup> century, the major paradigm shift; however, unsettled the conventional literary studies and traditional linguistics so much so that the emerging trends in literary and linguistic theories, both theoretical and practical, began contemplating on the inclusion of text linguistics, discourse analysis, pragmatics, semantics, and literary criticism in their field of studies. Literary theory moves beyond literary texts and studies art forms, film, the superhero comic book, sports, fashion, and efforts had been made to discover a common denominator between literary criticism and linguistics in terms of commonalities among ‘text’, ‘discourse’, and ‘language’. But still researchers and scholars from linguistics and literary studies sometimes raise doubt and question: whether the twain shall ever meet or not? </span></p>
