<div>This is a reminder that the deadline for abstracts for a<b> Workshop on "<span class="gmail-il">External</span>" <span class="gmail-il">Agreement</span> with Unexpected Targets</b> to be submitted for consideration for the
<a href="http://sle2019.eu/">52nd Annual Meeting of the Societas Linguistica Europaea</a> (SLE) in Leipzig is on
<b>Friday 16 November 2018.</b></div>

<div>'External' agreement occurs when targets agree with a controller that is outside a syntactically defined local domain, typically conceived of as strict locality (sisterhood) or high locality (such as verb-argument relations) (e.g. Alexiadou et al. 2013:
3-4). Agreement of this type is typically observed when typologically unusual targets, such as adverbs, adpositions, discourse particles and even nouns and pronouns, agree with clause level arguments. </div>

<div>This workshops aims to explore what constrains agreement systems of this kind, by drawing on language data from a diverse set of languages.</div>

<div dir="ltr">Since this workshop is intended to be part of the annual meeting of the SLE it needs to go through a preliminary round of evaluation. If the proposal is successful, the participants will be asked to submit a full abstract. Provisional titles
