<p>Dear colleagues,</p>
<p>as part of the next annual meeting of the Deutsche Gesellschaft
für Sprachwissenschaft, we will organize a workshop on "Model and
Evidence in Quantitative Comparative Linguistics" and we cordially
invite submissions for 20-minute oral presentations. <br>
</p>
<p>The purpose of the workshop is to provide a forum on
methodological discussion. It will focus on: </p>
<ul>
<li style="list-style-type:disc;list-style-position:inside;">approaches
to <em>model validation</em> and <em>model comparison</em> in
statistical work on comparative linguistic</li>
<li style="list-style-type:disc;list-style-position:inside;"><em>standards</em>
for data formats, <em>data accessibility</em>, and <em>data
sharing</em>, and<em></em></li>
<li style="list-style-type:disc;list-style-position:inside;"><em>best
practices</em> for code sharing and code accessibility within
an open science framework.</li>

<p>The deadline for the call is 31st of August 2020, and we have a
limited number of travel grants available upon request.</p>
