the school education in Ukraine, it is another way around than
described by Tilman: Right-bank Ukraine would be actually the

It always confused me as a child, but one has to look at the
flow of the river Dnipro that goes into the Black Sea and flows
from north to south and this way separates Ukraine into two
parts: left and right. Therefore, basically looking on the map
you should position yourself according to the natural flow of
the river.</div>
