Section 2.2.3.1 adduces some examples from Yucatec Maya, featuring
in particular the lexeme <i>óol</i> 'psyche, mind', which is the
locus of all feelings and mental dispositions. Beside this,
Yucatec Maya has the following lexemes:<br>

<i>máak</i> 'man, woman, someone'<br>
<i>wíinik</i> 'human being (as opposed to animal), person'<br>
<i>wíinikil</i> 'body' (derived in a formally productive, but
semantically obscure way from <i>wíinik</i>)<br>
<i>pixan</i> 'soul' (a notion heavily reshaped by Christian
religion)<br>
