<p>Lehmann's website on Morphological glossing deals with this
      topic:</p>
    <p><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.christianlehmann.eu/ling/ling_meth/ling_description/representations/gloss/index.php?open=l1_representation">https://www.christianlehmann.eu/ling/ling_meth/ling_description/representations/gloss/index.php?open=l1_representation</a></p>
<p>A problem arises with the matching of an orthographic
representation running from right to left, say, a Hebrew or Arabic
one, with a transcription and morphological gloss  in a language -
typically, English - that uses a left-to-right script. Lehmann
only mentions the use of number superscripts as a prop, but
otherwise does not mention this particular problem, probably
because he had no handy solution to offer. Ideas welcome.</p>
