C(omputerized)S(peech)R(esearch)E(nvironment) from AVAAZ, in particular how
the synthesis programme worked, but any information will be welcome.

re &P in GB-style framework:
 
is there anything recent and *accessible* on the status of Conjunction
head (&), say within the last couple o' years??  in particular, I need
to decide among configurations (a)-(c), and very soon.
 
(a)			(b)			(c)

(c) assumes that we don't project to XP unless required (IP, VP
only?). crucially, there is no room for constituents to move to;
whereas, in (b) something could move to spec-&P (?).

Subject:  Catawba Tapes?
 
Hello All,
 
We are trying to track down copies of the Catawba language tapes
recorded by Dr.  Frank Spech...we have heard they are housed at the
University of Pennsylvania museum.
 
I believe I just saw a message to this effect on either Linguist or
Nat-Lang this morning...I deleted it only minutes before our Program
director wandered into my office asking whether I had come across any
information on them!
 
If there are any other known recordings of Catawba, we would be very
interested in them as well.
