RITSUMEIKAN UNIVERSITY
Faculty of International Relations
Kyoto Japan
 
The Faculty of International Relations invites candidates for  a temporary
 associate professorship or a professorship effective April 1, 1996 to 1998 or
 1999 depending on the preference of the applicant.
The candidates should have a Ph.D and have enthusiasm as well as
experience in teaching English as a second language. The applicants should have
 a distinguished record as  a scholar in the area of Human
Communication. The applicants should be over 40 and under
60 years of age at time of employment. (We have to limit the age of the
applicants because of the particular  requirements set by
the Ministry of Education concerning this position)
Applicants are supposed to teach  5 courses of English as a foreign
language; 1 or 2 Human Communication courses offered in the graduate school
 and the  undergraduate school. In addition to that,
applicants are required to participate in administrative duties
such as attending Faculty meetings, doing various committee
works including those of  entrance examination and so on. Applicants
should be a native speaker of English, of non-Japanese nationality
and with enough Japanese language competency to cope with
administrative works listed above. Salary would be
 about 100,000 US $ but it would vary according to the applicant's
age in accordance with Japanese wage system. Applicants should send 1)Curriculu
