Research Fellows associated with the Department
of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics, City University of
Hong Kong are anticipated to be available in the coming
academic year.
 
Possible research areas include but are not limited to the following:
 
computational linguistics
experimental phonetics
linguistic theory
discourse analysis
 
Required background:
 
Applicants should have completed their Ph.D. in Linguistics
or related discipline.  Research experience resulting in international
publications is essential.
 
Salary:
Lecturer grades.  Determination of grade will depend on qualifications and
relevant experience.
 
Period of appointment:
1-3 years.

Full Professorship in Spanish language
 
Applications are invited for a permanent position as full professor of
Spanish, at the Institute of Language and Communication, Odense University,
tenable from Sep. 1, 1996, or as soon as possible thereafter.
 
Applicants are required to document
1) broad knowledge of modern linguistic theory and analysis;
2) research within one or more fields relating to the institute's three
main areas of research: sociolinguistics, foreign language interaction,
general linguistics.
 
Moreover, the position includes teaching in language related subjects (eg.
grammar, (theory of) translation, intercultural communication, language of
negotiation).
 
The appointee will be required to take part in all types of activities:
research, teaching, administration, and project management.
 
The annual salary is at present approx. DKK 475.000.
