Dear all,
        I'm interested in doing fieldwork on Rgyalthang dialect in
Yunnan.  I'd appreciate any help on the references on Rgyalthang in
particular or on Eastern Tibet in general (the references don't have
to be restricted to the field of language).
        I've read an article on house symbolism by Claes Corlin.  In
the article (1980) he mentioned his forthcoming book on the ethnography
of Rgyalthang.  I wonder if anyone has read the book (presuming it has
been out--I like to know where it is published), and if anyone knows
Corlin's address.
        Thank you very much.  Any suggestions on how to do fieldwork
in China & Tibet would be really appreciated.

Subject: Do you use Simplified English?
 
Can you help me? I'm looking for information on AECMA Simplified
English AND on other controlled/restricted forms of English. (AECMA
Simplified English is an international writing standard for aircraft
maintenance manuals.)
 
If you CAN help me, here a few starting questions:
 
- Does Simplified English (SE) make documentation easier to understand?
- How can this be measured or detected?
- Can SE be adapted to non-aerospace industries?
- Can SE be adapted to other types of technical documentation,
    such as training manuals or operator's guides?
- Does it cost more to produce documents in Simplified English?

I am looking for a formal definition of "pig latin" so that I could
develope a program for translating english to "pig latin."
 
My web searching turned up a prior question posted to this list concerning
a formal definition of "pig latin." If anyone can point me to an answer
I would appreciate it. I am not a subscriber to this list so I would

Hi all,
 
I would like to know if someone can help me locating, or even send me, spanish
(castellano or americano) corpora as well as word lists or even machine ready
dictionaries whether specialized or not.
I can send to interrested ones a corpus based on medical document and more
precisely on pneumological papers I've been processing a few months ago.
