PSYCHOLINGUISTICS. The Department of Linguistics at the
University of New Mexico seeks applicants for a tenure track
Assistant Professor in psycholinguistics beginning August 19,
1996, pending budgetary capability.
   Minimum qualifications:
      -- Ph.D. by date of application.
      -- Current program of psycholinguistic research that
         complements the functional and cognitive orientation of
         the Department.
      -- Ability to contribute to core curriculum teaching..
   Desirable qualifications:
      -- Preferred areas of expertise are language processing,
         discourse analysis, bilingualism, and/or child language
         acquisition.
      -- Strong empirical orientation
      -- Research involving a minority language of North
         America, especially a minority language of the
         Southwest (e.g. Spanish, a Native American language,
         American Sign Language)
      -- Ability to communicate effectively with students and
         colleagues.
