Postdoctoral Research Fellow
 
A Research Fellow is required to collect and assist with the analysis of
telephone dialogues for a project funded by the ESRC'S Cognitive
Engineering programme and jointly managed by Vocalis Ltd.  Applicants
should have experience and a postgraduate qualification in one or more
of: conversation analysis, linguistics, or speech technology.
 
Salary on the RAIA scale up to 15986 pounds per annum, starting 1 November
1995 for three years.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
UNIVERSITY OF POTSDAM / GERMANY
 
research position in German linguistics, in a research project on
intonation in German dialects
 
Fuer ein geplantes gemeinsames Forschungsprojekt der Universtaeten Hamburg
und Potsdam (Prof. M. Selting, Prof. P. Auer) wird - vorbehaltlich der
Genehmigung durch die DFG - ab Fruehjahr 1996 ein(e) wissenschaftliche(r)
Mitarbeiter(in) nach BAT IIa fuer maximal 5 Jahre gesucht.
 
Das Projekt beschaeftigt sich mit Unterschieden der Intonation in vier
deutschen Dialekten;es verbindet Methoden der "discourse prosody",
Dialektologie und apparativen Intonationsanalyse. Wir suchen einen
Mitarbeiter oder eine Mitarbeiterin, der/die moeglichst in der auditiven
Intonationsanalyse gesprochener (konversationeller) Sprache gute
Vorkenntnisse hat oder sich (aus der apparativen Intonationsanalyse oder
Dialektologie kommend) in diesen Themenbereich schnell einarbeiten kann.
Voraussetzung sind hervorragende Deutschkenntnisse.
