We'd appreciate your limiting conference announcements to 150 lines,
so that we can post more than 1 per issue. Please consider omitting
information useful only to attendees, such as information on housing,
transportation, or rooms and times of sessions. Please do not use
abbreviations or acronyms for your conference unless you explain
them in your text. Many people outside your area of specialization
will not recognize them. Thank you for your cooperation.

PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT
-----------------------

The first European Symposium on ELG and EPG was held in Edinburgh in
July 1994. This international meeting brought together a range of
researchers interested in using these techniques to address
theoretical and practical issues. The papers from this symposium were
published in a special edition of the European Journal of Disorders of
Communication (1995), Vol 30, No 2, edited by Fiona Gibbon and Colin
Watson. Since the last symposium there have been exciting new
developments in both technologies and the applications of these
techniques are expanding.

The second ELG/EPG Symposium aims to present new work in these fields.
